Exploring Unexpected Places: Takamatsu Castle Ruins

Usually, tourists visiting Takamatsu City for cherry blossom viewing would go to Ritsurin Garden. However, this trip, besides Ritsurin Garden, I stumbled upon a surprising place without any prior planning - Tamamo Park • Takamatsu Castle Ruins. In Japan, parks that charge an entrance fee are typically priced at 500 yen or more. But Tamamo Park only charges 200 yen, which made me a bit skeptical. However, thinking that even if it turned out to be disappointing, I would only waste 200 yen, I decided to visit it during a free slot after breakfast. The park was larger than I expected, and its landscaping was not necessarily inferior to Ritsurin Garden. The fact that there were fewer tourists was also a major advantage. The park's scenery was beautiful, allowing for leisurely appreciation and photography. The highlight of the park is the Sakura no Baba (Cherry Blossom Field). To be honest, there weren't too many cherry trees, about 30-40, but they were concentrated in one area, making them quite enjoyable to view. There is also a large grassy area in the center of the cherry grove where you can picnic and enjoy the blossoms, which is very comfortable and relaxing. Before I knew it, I had spent three hours in the park. If you are used to visiting popular cherry blossom viewing spots and want to avoid the crowds while taking your time to capture photos, consider visiting this park. You might have an unexpectedly delightful time.
