Taksin Maharat National Park

Taksin Maharat National Park is located in two districts: Mueang Tak and Mae Sot. It is located on Highway No. 105 (Tak-Mae Sot), approximately 35 kilometers from Mueang Tak District. It is declared to overlap the Mae Lamao National Forest Reserve, Pha Wo Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, according to Ministerial Regulation No. 954 (1981) and the Mae Tho-Huai Tak Right Bank National Forest Reserve, Mae Tho Subdistrict, Mueang District, Tak Province, according to Ministerial Regulation No. 145 (1966). The area announced in the Royal Gazette is 93,125 rai, but the actual area calculated is 163,750 rai. History: Taksin Maharat National Park was originally called “Ton Krabak Yai National Park” because it has the largest Krabak tree in Thailand as far as surveyed at the moment. Mr. Swat Na Nan, the 2nd technician of the Tak Provincial Telecommunications Station, was told by the Lahu hill tribe that there was a large tree that could be encircled by ten people, and there was a natural stone bridge. When he went to explore, he found that it was a beautiful natural condition that was worth preserving, so he wrote two letters to the National Park Division, dated June 15, 1976 and January 6, 1977, reporting on the natural features, which were outstanding, including the large Kabak tree, the natural stone bridge, Huai Hoi Waterfall, Mae Ya Pa Waterfall, the rich forest conditions, water flowing all year round, and an abundance of wildlife. #National park worth visiting
