Taiyuan Botanical Garden in Winter

Taiyuan Botanical Garden is the first ecological botanical garden in Taiyuan, integrating horticultural appreciation and cultural tourism. There are three exhibition greenhouses with climate control systems to create a suitable environment for plants. The glass curtain walls look like three large umbrellas, protecting the plants inside. Unlike Xiamen Botanical Garden, the tropical plants, desert plants, and seasonal plants are regulated by greenhouses. Upon entering the botanical garden, you will see the Natural Science Museum at the entrance. The Cao Tianwen Insect Specimen Museum introduces different types of insects, including crustaceans, butterflies, and moths from different regions worldwide. The insects are gathered here, including human-faced insects, colorful moths, and locusts. There are mantises, dead leaf mantises, the most ferocious beetles, and the largest dung beetles in the world. The different colors on the crustaceans' bodies emit bright light, including gold, green, and colorful. The exquisite insect specimens are like works of art. The butterflies are also colorful, including white, yellow, colorful, and owl-like butterflies. After leaving the Insect Museum, you will step onto the 60-meter-long futuristic time elevator, the first attraction after entering the garden. As the elevator slowly rises, you will see the whole view of the botanical garden. It is best to visit here after 4 pm when the lights are bright, the stars are shining, and the botanical garden is dazzling. When you enter the tropical greenhouse, the warm and humid air will greet you, and the tropical plants are lush, in stark contrast to the cold outside. There are coconut trees, banana trees, vine plants, and tropical flowers that you can't name. There are many tourists here, and there are also rockeries. Exploring the plants in the tree holes is the greatest fun. In the desert greenhouse, cacti, cactus balls, and different desert plants grow tenaciously here. The desert plants are still full of vitality, but not as diverse as those in Xiamen Botanical Garden. Finally, you will enter the seasonal greenhouse, where various flowers bloom beautifully in red, white, yellow, orange, etc. There are the most people taking photos here, and there is an artificial waterfall, giving people the illusion of being in Guizhou. There is also an azalea exhibition at the exit of the exhibition hall, which explains the patterns of ancient clothing. The reference of different flowers and patterns takes aesthetics to a new height. After leaving the greenhouse, I walked to the bonsai exhibition area, a world of strange stones and greenery. It is very quiet here, giving people deep thoughts in the tranquility.
