Finally, I got to revisit this mysterious restaurant with its European ambiance and fountain! ❤️ This time, it was for the Nine Squares event. The fat was mine! 😆 The menu offers both à la carte and set menus. The new chef's menu features a surf and turf feast with king crab for $4280 (25% off for 2-4 people with a Dining Card). There's also a weekday lunch-only business lunch combo for $1680, which includes an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert or fruit. (If using a Dining Card, the original price is $2480.) The main course selection is quite extensive, with over ten steak options alone, and plenty of options for those who don't eat steak. It's a perfect place for a date (it was about 90% full at noon today). After ordering, the appetizer bread is served first, but unfortunately, the bread plate is no longer available. 🥹 Next came the appetizers. I chose a sashimi sea bream carpaccio and a wagyu beef tartare with caviar. The wagyu beef tartare is something I almost always order, but the sashimi sea bream carpaccio is average. I also traded two lines of the nine-square grid for a Maryland crab cake. Simply put, it didn't cost extra. 😂 For the hot appetizers, I chose spicy grilled tiger prawns and a porcini mushroom and truffle bisque. The grilled tiger prawns are so delicious I always want them! Next came the main course. I chose a 400g US rib-eye steak. This is a set menu for two, with a choice of two sides. The steak is recommended medium-rare, with good control of fat and doneness. Black pepper is freshly ground tableside, and it's also available with sea salt, rose salt, and mustard seed sauce! Just why didn't they come with roasted garlic? 😆 Now for dessert, tea, and drinks. We both chose a giant, thick slice of chocolate cake as we'd hoped. But honestly, it's not as good as the one at S&W. And why is the cake always so hard when it arrives? 😓 That aside, the ambiance, service, and food are absolutely amazing ❤️ 50% off for two with a dining card. Today's order is about 90% full. By the way, Bao Ai doesn't charge for water! You can choose between mineral water or sparkling water.
