📍Trip Overview We were blessed with great weather, the perfect day for Jiufen🌞 Under the blue sky, the retro streets, red lanterns, and the sunset were just like the world of Spirited Away. It was a dream-like day trip where we could enjoy fantastic scenery and delicious food✨ 🚩Route ★If you go directly from Taipei to Jiufen Taipei Station → MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station → Take bus 1062 for about an hour → Arrive at Jiufen Old Street Can be done as a day trip from Taipei! It's best to arrive around 3pm and stay until dusk or lantern time✨ ★Going from Shifen to Jiufen (recommended for local travel lovers) Shifen (Shifen Station) → Ruifang Station (local line) → Take a bus or taxi to Jiufen (about 15-20 minutes) Time required: about a little less than an hour Taxi is convenient from the station (cheaper if there are a lot of people) Morning: Flying lanterns in Shifen🎈 → Afternoon-evening: Sunset and lanterns in Jiufen✨ This combination is a surefire course for traveling in Taiwan! 🏖️Photogenic spots ★ Jiufen Old Street 　The main street lined with cobblestone slopes and red lanterns. 　Just walking around is photogenic! 📸 ★ Taro sweets eat-in space 　From the window seats, you can enjoy a spectacular view surrounded by the sea and mountains. You can take the best photos while eating yam balls. ★ Amei Tea House It's like the world of Spirited Away. If you take a photo with the swaying lanterns on the stairs, it's perfect. It's especially fantastic when lit up at night. ★ Observation deck overlooking the sea Perfect for taking photos at dusk. You'll be mesmerized by the orange-hued sky and sea. From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., the lanterns all over the town are lit up, and the whole town is enveloped in a retro red. This is a moment you can't miss, the "Jiufen Magic" 🎴 🚇Transportation ・MRT + bus from Taipei (about 1.5 hours in total) ・To avoid the crowds, it is recommended to take the bus in the morning or before 3pm ・Many people use Uber or taxis (especially on the way back, as it gets crowded) 🍜Exquisite Gourmet ★ Taro balls A specialty of Jiufen! A sweet with an addictive chewy texture. You can choose between hot and cold, both with a gentle sweetness 🍡 We recommend slowly savoring it in the eat-in space overlooking the sea. ★ Fish ball soup A comforting taste with a strong fish flavor. A light meal menu to take a break between eating and walking. ★ Peanut Ice Roll (花生捲冰淇淋) A local Taiwanese sweet made with ice cream, peanut powder, and coriander wrapped in a thin crepe-like skin. The sweet and salty taste is addictive! You can also choose it without coriander. ★ Tea experience at Amei Teahouse A luxurious moment where you can enjoy authentic Taiwanese tea while surrounded by lanterns and a spectacular view. It's a little pricey, but the space, service, and view are all special. It looks great, so I recommend you try it at least once. ★ Koufukudo's Brown Sugar Tapioca Milk The famous shop "Koufukudo" is also in Jiufen!
