Taipei

Went to Taiwan last April and here are some things I'll definitely do again if I come back as a solo traveler. 1 - Use e-sim instead of pocket wi-fi. The line is actually not that long during claiming (Taoyuan Airport). However, for me it's a hassle to go back to the booth just to return it. E-sim is also reliable and no problem with connect 2 - Bring extra pair of shoes if you're staying for a couple of days. My last trip was 6D5N aand I only brought a pair of shoes. My friend said Taipei weather is unpredictable and surely I got soaked on my 2nd day. Thankfully the hotel I'm staying have dryer. 3 - Hotel. Don't mind adding a little extra if this will give you comfort! I had a wonderful stay at Main Inn Taipei and will probably be back here! 4 - Buy an IC card holder. For someone forgetful like me, this is a must! You won't need to rummage on your bag or pockets. 5 - Load your IC with enough value, it's easy to top-up on convenience stores. Always bring cash! Not all shops accepts card. 6 - When lost, Google Map is the key! Learn how the train lines work (Taipei), You don't need to memorize them all, just check the station name/line color. No need to be afraid during transfer, there are signages every where! #travel #taipei

Spend one energetic day in Taipei and feed your adventure with these must-hit food spots around iconic stops! First up, Din Tai Fung (Taipei 101 branch, No. 45, Shifu Rd, Xinyi District). Dive into their world-famous Xiaolongbao—each dumpling bursts with juicy goodness. Don’t skip the Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai or Truffle Xiao Long Bao for luxe bites. The vibe is bustling and polished, right at the base of Taipei 101—soak in the city’s modern energy while you eat. Opening hours: 10:00–21:00. Perfect for fueling up after your morning sightseeing! For lunch, swing by Hangzhou Xiaolong Tangbao (No. 10, Hangzhou S. Rd, Zhongzheng District), a relaxed spot near CKS Memorial Hall serving handmade soup dumplings and savory noodles. Signature dish: their classic pork soup dumplings—the wrapper is thin and the broth flavor deep! It’s a cozy, unfussy setup ideal for a midday recharge. Opening hours: 11:30–20:00. Tip: arrive early to beat the local crowd. Wrap up your evening in Ximending, the epicenter of youth culture and eats. Try Ay Chung Flour-Rice Noodle (No. 8-1, Emei St, Wanhua District), famous for chewy rice noodles in peppery, thick broth. Grab a bowl, stand outside with the crowd, and soak up the neon buzz. Opening hours: 9:00–22:30. This is the true taste of Taipei nightlife—perfect after a day on the move! Pro tip: Wear comfy shoes and hydrate—Taipei is best explored by foot! #Taipei #StreetFood #DayTrip #Dumplings #UrbanAdventure
