There is a bustling hot spring town nearby, but once you step inside this building, you will feel a silence as if time has stopped. The Western-style building, which was built during the Japanese colonial period, is very tasteful both inside and out, like a movie set. As soon as you take off your shoes and enter the building, you will feel the warmth of the wooden floor. Even the creaking sound is pleasant, and you will naturally walk slower. What was impressive was the site of the large public bath. The tiled space has been left as it is, and when you stand there, you can imagine the bustle and steam of those days. It was not just an "exhibition," but it felt like "memories" were alive there, and it warmed my heart. The exhibits were well-organized, and the hot spring culture and origins of Beitou were introduced in an easy-to-understand way. Behind the glamor of this tourist destination, you can sense the accumulation of many people's lives and thoughts. My stay passed by in a flash, but I'm glad I came here. The tranquil nature of Yangmingshan and the historic hot spring culture of Beitou gave me a moment of peace of mind that I can't experience in my daily life.
