Visit the Tangkuo Cultural Park

The Tangkuo Cultural Park was once the first sugar factory in the northern region. Today, the old sugar factory warehouse not only showcases the history of sugar production but also serves as a base for traditional arts. This place is perfect for family outings, with an old train used for transporting sugarcane outdoors and interactive exhibits and a children's play area indoors for kids to enjoy. Tangkuo was previously a place for sugar production, i.e., a sugar factory. The sugar industry existed here since the Qing Dynasty and developed into a more significant industry during the Japanese colonial period. After the restoration, Taiwan's sugar industry gradually declined, and most of the buildings were demolished, leaving only three warehouses and the platform of the sugar transport railway. The park's main body consists of three warehouses and a sugar train locomotive. Inside, there is a history and guided introduction of sugar production in the cultural park, as well as the tallest building's chimney from that era, providing an in-depth understanding of sugar production culture.
