A Nice Place, Especially at Weekend

#taipei The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was initially constructed in 1937 as a tobacco factory, but it ceased to produce cigarettes in 1998 for concern over urban planning. In 2001, the government designed the defunct tobacco factory as Taipei's 99th historic site and converted it into a park. It is located at 133 Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District, and is open daily from 0800-2200. It is around 6 minutes 500 meters walk from Taipei City Hall station (Bannan Line). It is a great place to walk around and enjoy, since being converted into a cultural hub packed with galleries, exhibitions, design spaces and shops. It is best to visit over a weekend, when there are usually markets selling gifts and foods.
