After strolling through the ancient town of Taining in the morning, we arrived at Shangqingxi

We took a bamboo raft and drifted down the stream. Shangqingxi is 16 kilometers long and the drifting takes nearly 2 hours, which is perfect for relieving the fatigue of walking in the morning. Watching the steep mountains on both sides and listening to the humorous explanations of the boatmen, it was very pleasant. Shangqingxi is located in a deep mountain canyon area, with a large drop in the river, rapid water flow, more than ten meters wide at its widest and less than two meters at its narrowest, leaving only a slit of sky and just enough room for a single raft to pass through. The geology here is composed of ancient continental sedimentary rocks, and the Danxia landform formed by the red stone group is varied and spectacular, with strange peaks and caves, and sheer cliffs everywhere. After getting off the raft, we heard that we could take a night tour of Jiulongtan. Jiulongtan is part of the most dense and complex Chinese Danxia canyon group, a typical area of the development of the Danxia landform during the youth period of Taining, integrating lakes, streams, mountains, valleys, rocks, peaks, and gullies with diverse changes, known as the 'miniature pearl of Taining Danxia landscape'. Jiulongtan is also the spot we have been longing to visit. We thought we wouldn't have time to play, but it turns out that we can also take a night tour, which is a pleasant surprise, allowing us to experience the Danxia peaks under the light and shadow.
