Tainan Art Museum, Taiwan

Thomas Ames Museum Taiwan's old buildings have been transformed into art museums. There are 2 buildings in total. The first is Thomas Ames Museum 1. This used to be a police station during the Japanese occupation. It was built in the Art Deco style, featuring red bricks. After 90 years, it has been transformed into a museum and art gallery. It is intended to be a place to gather art in Tainan. It is considered an important historical site because it is one of the few Japanese police stations that Taiwan still preserves. Leaving Building 1, walk along the road for less than five minutes and you will see Building 2, 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐. This is a modern building with a white color that is easy on the eyes. It is a building with a modern and stylish design with a pentagonal roof on top, which was inspired by the Royal Poinciana, the city tree of Tainan. It is a collaboration between Joe Shih Architects & Associates of Taiwan and Shigeru Ban Architects of Japan. The area is about 2,500 square meters. Inside, there are 5 floors, divided into exhibition rooms, workshop rooms, a theater, an art center for children, a cafe, and a souvenir shop. #VisitMuseum
