Taichung Sunsets: Chasing the Golden Hour in Taiwan

Taichung is an attractive city that has a much more chill vibes than Taipei. It is a convenient location to get to many other attractions in Chiayi and Alishan Getting There: You can take a high soeed rail from Taipei. Personally find that public transport is not as robust as Taipei and also Gaomei wetlands is abit far out. Recommend joining a day tour to maximise time. Food: Best night market in Taichung is Feng Chia Night market with plenty of food options, Also remember to try the famous Sun cakes in Taichung. Itinerary: 1. Gaomei Wetlands Highlights - This place is especially famous and popular to see the stunning sunset and recommend to be there 1 hour before sunset to get a spot and see the wetlands before high tide. You can see crabs and mudskippers. Far from city so will need a cab or half day tour. 2. Rainbow village Highlights - Beautifully painted village, hand painted by an old grandpa, formerly a residential area for military people. Colourful and vibrant village. 3. National Theatre Highlights - Beautiful architecture and relaxing space where you can chill. There are many small shops selling souvenir and craft items there. Features to see include the butterfly deco on the roof and giant ear in the park opposite. 4. Miyahara Highlights - Beautiful building and shop which sells delicious gelato and beautiful biscuits and chocolates. Recommend trying the tea flavour gelato in waffle cup! 5. Chun Shui Tang Highlights - Visited the original store and this is claimed to be the founding place of pearl milk tea. Had a enjoyable cup of bubble tea and some snacks in the shop, atmosphere was good and milk tea was fragrant. There are multiple outlets im Taichung. #bestsunset #photolocation #100waysoftravel

✨Taiwan Travel Diary – A Journey Full of Heart & Memories 🧳🌸 From the moment I landed in Taipei, I knew this trip would be special! The first stop was none other than the iconic Taipei 101 🏙️—standing tall and proud, piercing through the clouds. The view from the observatory was absolutely breathtaking 😍. As I gazed down at the city lights, it felt like the whole world was glittering beneath my feet 💫. Cingjing Farm 🐑⛰️ — a peaceful paradise surrounded by rolling green hills, cool breeze, and fluffy sheep wandering freely. Feeding them under the wide blue sky was pure joy 💕. Not far away, colorful windmills spun cheerfully in the wind, adding a whimsical touch to the mountain scenery 🌬️🌻. When night fell, Fengjia Night Market came alive with lights, laughter, and mouthwatering aromas 😋🍢. I tried everything — crispy chicken cutlets, bubble tea, and sweet potato balls 🧋🍠✨. Each bite was happiness on a stick! In Taichung, I paid a visit to Yingcai Fude Temple 🙏 and Guangtian Palace 🏮— feeling the calm and cultural beauty of Taiwanese faith and tradition. The scent of incense and the sound of temple bells created a moment of peace in my heart 🌸🕊️. I also explored Yongle Market 🧵— a paradise for fabric lovers and local crafts! Then, I wandered through the historical Longshan Temple 🐉, where time seemed to slow down as I offered a prayer for health and happiness 💖🕯️. Finally, I found myself lost in the charm of Jiufen Old Street 🎐⛩️ — red lanterns glowing in the mist, the smell of tea and taro balls in the air 🍵🍡. I ended my day at Ruifang Station 🚉, grabbing a snack at Ruifang Food Court before heading back. Every stop in Taiwan was a blend of tradition, nature, and delicious discoveries 💕. I left with a full heart, a happy belly, and memories that will sparkle forever ✨🌏💖. #TaiwanTravel#Wanderlust 🧳🌸#cingjingfarm #taipei101 #jiufen

Gaomei Wetlands

Taichung has always been the first choice city for photography and tourism in many people's minds, and Gaomei Wetland is one of the must-visit popular attractions! The route shared this time is perfect for those who want to slow down and feel the beauty of nature - I have experienced the sunset at Gaomei Wetland, and I honestly say: it's too shocking and beautiful! Not only is there blue sky and white clouds, mirrored waters, but also an invincible sunset atmosphere 🌅 Trip Highlights Recommendation The whole trip focuses on "healing natural system"! The sunset in Gaomei Wetland is one of the most beautiful moments in Taichung. Standing on the wooden canyon and looking at the wetland under the sunset, there is no sense of distance at all. The whole sky and water blend together, healing. Plus, open year-round, no special reservations required, you can go wherever you want, super flexible plans! 🔎 Gomei Wetland Must-See Guide As a classic attraction in Taichung, Gaomei Wetland has a few highlights that must be Bookmarked: 1. Wooden Canyon Stroll The wetland range is huge, and the best viewing route is to take a slow walk along the wooden canyon. It is recommended to arrive at 3-4 o'clock, stroll until sunset, as the sky gradually darkens, is you witness the beautiful gradient of heaven and earth. 2. Sunset magic moment Don't miss the sunset when you go to Komei Wetland. At almost 6pm, the golden sunset shines on the sea, turning the entire wetland into a mirror world, great for photography! And the crowd is most comfortable at this time, not too crowded. 3. Wind turbine check-in Next to the wetland is a whole row of wind turbines, which is super "sci-fi". Not only is it a characteristic landmark, but also many net beauties come to shoot the scene, turning on the lights at night is another kind of beauty. ✅ Address information Attractions: Gaomei Wetland Address: Mei Ti Street, Qingshui District, Taichung, Taiwan Opening hours: Open all day year-round (but recommended to go during the day, high tide at night and the wooden canyon part will be closed) 🍴Food recommendations You can go to the "Gao Mei Wetland Visitor Service Center" nearby. There are several snack stalls and seafood shops. It is recommended to try the Qingshui Dajia taro ice and oyster omelette. The local snacks are very good value for money. There are more crowds during the holidays, so be sure to prepare in advance or bring your own snacks. 🚗 Transportation guide From downtown Taichung, take the train to Qingshui, then transfer to bus No. 178/179, or drive directly into the wetland parking lot. It is recommended to leave early on holidays to avoid traffic jams. 🎒 Trip experience & tips - Sincerely recommend to the wetland in the evening, because the light is the most beautiful, the whole sunset falling on the water, the atmosphere is super fantastic ~ - Remember to bring a hat/sunscreen, slippers (to use for photos in the canyon in the water), in addition, the sea breeze is relatively strong, spring and autumn with a thin jacket. - Photography like natural light to grab the spot half an hour before sunset, this time there are fewer people super convenient composition. #Gaomei Wetland Sunset #Taichung Photo #Natural Healing #Sunset Scenery #Parent-Child Travel
