Switzerland Travel Review: The Land of Snowy Mountains, Clear Lakes and Happiness Switzerland… Every time I hear a name, it feels like the sound of cold wind blowing through the tall mountains, the clear water of the lake and the sweet aroma of chocolate. Every time I think of this country, my heart swells with happiness like a child who just received the most favorite gift. Start your adventure in Zurich, a big city full of strange cuteness and warmth. Here, you can see the Limmat River, which is so clear that it reflects the white houses, and an ancient wooden bridge decorated with colorful flowers. Take a leisurely stroll along the river while sipping on fragrant coffee and crispy croissants from a small shop that is as warm as our second home. From Zurich, we took a train to Lucerne, a small city that seems to have come out of a fairy tale. There is a wooden bridge, Kapellbrücke, which curves across the river and is decorated with beautiful seasonal flowers. Walking across the bridge is like walking across a door into a dream world. Lake Lucerne is so clear that it looks like a mirror reflecting the majestic snow-capped mountains around it. One of the most memorable experiences was taking the cable car up to the top of Mount Pilatus. From the top, we could see the city of Lucerne, the lake, and the snowy mountains in an indescribable way. The cold wind that blew against our faces and the birdsong created a romantic atmosphere like being in a fairy tale. Then we continued on to Interlaken, a city located between Lake Thun and Brienz. The water was so clear that we could see small fish swimming. The small wooden houses were decorated with colorful flowers. The fragrant pastries and chocolate shops made our hearts melt with the sweetness of the warm, stretchy cheese fondue… making us want to eat it again and again. The highlight of the trip was taking the Jungfraujoch railway, the highest in Europe and known as the “Top of Europe.” The view along the way through the green fields, small villages, and the snowy mountains was so heart-melting. When we reached the top, we were covered in pure white snow and the cool breeze was so refreshing. We walked around the Ice Palace, which was decorated with sparkling ice sculptures. It's like entering an ice castle in a fairy tale. Fun activities here include snowboarding, sledding, and walking to see the natural scenery that looks like a real painting. Another romantic experience is to ride the Glacier Express, which is known as the most beautiful train in the world. The bright red train takes us through high mountains, green fields, pine forests, and clear lakes along the way. The view is like a postcard that comes to life in front of our windows. The destination is the city of Zermatt, which has no cars. It is quiet. The wooden houses are decorated with beautiful fresh flowers and the Matterhorn, the symbol of Switzerland, is standing tall in front of us. This pyramid-shaped mountain is the logo of the Toblerone chocolate that we are familiar with. Waking up in the morning to see the Matterhorn standing tall in front of us, our hearts swell with happiness. Walking in the city of Zermatt, we also saw sheep and cows walking in the meadows. It was a lovely and heartwarming sight. Finally, we ended the trip with the village of Lauterbrunnen, which is located in a valley surrounded by high cliffs and many waterfalls. The sound of the waterfall and the sound of cow bells is a natural song that calms the heart. The wooden houses lined up along the fresh green fields are an unforgettable memory. Throughout the journey We tried local dishes like Cheese Fondue, a hot cheese fondue dipped in soft bread, and Raclette, a hot grilled cheese on potatoes. It was so delicious that we wanted to eat it again and again. Switzerland is not only a beautiful country, but also a land that warms the heart and makes you feel like you are truly part of nature. This trip became the most lovely and memorable moment in my life. If you are looking for a place to travel that is full of nature, fresh air, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere, Switzerland is the best answer.
