Guanqian Street, established during the Qing Dynasty, is Suzhou's commercial center. It's named for the Xuanmiao Temple, a thousand-year-old Taoist temple located near it. The street boasts historic buildings and shops, and is now a bustling destination for local specialties, shopping, and dining. Dachengfang is a historic alleyway, first recorded as Dayunfang Lane in the Ming Dynasty's "Suzhou Prefecture Chronicle."
