Cycling around Yangcheng Lake 🫧｜This article is enough + super detailed route guide

❶ Route overview + app codes ➡ "Figure 2" ❷ Yangcheng Peninsula route ➡ "Figure 3" ❸ Lotus Island route ➡ "Figure 4" (Departing from Shanghai, 4+2) Parking 🅿️: "Shuifu Road Parking Lot," free 🆓, with restrooms 🚾 - You can also park at Bicester Shopping Center, free 🆓 - Or park near the lake loop start at Huayi Brothers and Qianshuiwan Commercial Street, but it’s paid～ Lake loop start: Intersection of Yangcheng Loop Road and Huayi Brothers - Clockwise around the lake, basic loop route 55km (thick line in Figure 2) - Since departure was at 1 PM, worried about being too slow and missing the scenery on Yangcheng Peninsula after dark, so deliberately detoured 5km back from the parking lot to the start point; if you start early, just do the loop directly～ ➡ part.① Yangcheng Peninsula section｜Route guide in 【Figure 3】 - On the way out, took the lakeside greenway on Yangcheng Peninsula, which is sharp and the scenery is pretty good; the greenway condition is also 🉑, but like all greenways, the common problem is people/electric bikes running around, and many tourists on weekends; probably better on weekdays～ - On the way back, took Yangcheng Loop Road to the parking lot 🅿️, so rode both inner and outer routes of Yangcheng Peninsula; Yangcheng Loop Road is a main road with few people and cars, so you can speed up～ - For scenery, take the outer sharp route; for speed, take the inner main road, about 10km - For leisure or family rides, just ride the peninsula; there are recommended routes in the scenic area you can follow～ You can visit attractions, the peninsula is the essence of Yangcheng Lake scenery～ ➡ part.② Yangcheng Lake Beauty Leg 🦵 This section has good road conditions, basically no wrong turns; at the Y-junction keep right; there are supplies and restaurants/snack bars; I even followed a group of big pros for a long stretch haha, but I’m too weak and could only keep up for 30km before stopping 😯～ ➡ part.③ Lotus Island｜Route guide in 【Figure 4】 - Intensity optional, 11km round trip - Just ride the main road, road condition 🉑 (marked with rainbow 🌈 lines) - Lotus Island is a small village; except for the main road, other roads are too rough to ride; island attractions are average, and the park on the west side charges an entrance fee～ ➡ part.④ Bacheng Town (Binhu Road) back to start - The town is lively with many supplies and snack stalls 🍡 - Remember to turn right at Ma’anshan West Road to the end; it’s a wetland park where you can see the sunset 🌇 - From lake loop start to parking lot, took Chenghu Loop Road 10km (mentioned earlier) ——❤️ The above routes are all marked in the route guides in 【Figures 2-4】📖—— ——❤️ Summary ❤️—— - Overall cycling conditions are pretty good; I remember only a small section was bumpy; except for the northern road with no supplies, the rest all have supply points and cycling stations! - Basic lake loop 55km, Lotus Island add-on +11km, extra loop in central Yangcheng Lake +10km; I rode 81km that day - Not sure if it’s because of the cloudy weather, the lake didn’t look especially beautiful (just saying to save face), but luckily the roads were good!
