A Day Trip Full of Charm and Beauty

#chinatravel Tongli Ancient Town is a beautiful and picturesque day trip from Suzhou or Shanghai. The town is surrounded by water and lush greenery, making it a tranquil escape. The canals, stone bridges, and the reflections of the old houses create a stunning, picture-perfect scene at every turn. Beyond the scenery, there are plenty of things to do. I spent my time exploring the Chongben and Jiayin Halls, which are known for their intricate wood carvings and Fengshui-based design. The town also has many quaint coffee shops and restaurants where you can stop for a relaxing lunch and sample local cuisine. The town is very walkable, but a boat ride is a relaxing way to see the sights. Tips: Many of the best photo opportunities are from the bridges, so be sure to stop and take in the views from above.
