We arrived in Zhouzhuang on a bright summer afternoon, the sun high and sharp on the tiled rooftops and narrow canals 🌞🏘️🛶. The water moved slow and dark beneath stone bridges, while willows leaned over the banks, their leaves swaying gently in the heat 🌿🌉. Boatmen in straw hats pushed their wooden boats with practiced ease, their voices low as they sang old songs that seemed to float just above the water 🎶🚣♂️. The air was thick with the scent of river, steamed buns, and the sweetness of lotus blooming in hidden courtyards 🌸🍡🏞️. We walked the alleys past old residences with carved wood panels and quiet patios where locals rested with tea.
