Hanshan Temple is frequently linked with the renowned poet Zhang Ji from the Tang Dynasty, credited with crafting the famous poem “A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge” (枫桥夜泊). The poem vividly depicts the resonating sound of the temple bell during the night, evoking a poignant and contemplative ambiance. It’s fascinating to realize that the actual temple referenced in the poem is the same Hanshan Temple that I visited. How intriguing! 月落烏啼霜滿天， 江楓漁火對愁眠， 姑蘇城外寒山寺， 夜半鐘聲到客船。
