[Sukhothai Province, Thailand] A town where ruins from about 800 years ago remain

In 2023, I went on three trips to Thailand. There were several places I visited for the first time, and Sukhothai, which I will post about this time, was also my first visit this year. It was a place I had wanted to go for a long time, but I was unable to go because the opportunity and timing were not right. As I was researching various things to do in Thailand, I found that it was easier and more accessible than I expected, so I decided to go. [This time's itinerary] ① From Fukuoka to Bangkok ② From Bangkok to Phitsanulok by plane ③ From Phitsanulok to Phetchabun by rental car ④ From Phitsanulok to Sukhothai by bus ⑤ From Sukhothai to Bangkok by plane ⑥ From Bangkok to Fukuoka This time, I purchased a one-way air ticket from Bangkok to Phitsanulok and a one-way air ticket from Sukhothai to Bangkok on Trip.com and traveled to three provinces, so this time I will introduce my favorite ruins in Sukhothai. [1st photo] ● Wat Si Chum This is the ruins temple I wanted to see the most in the Sukhothai ruins. It is a large ruin with a height of about 15m and is very impressive. ● Admission fee: 30 baht [2nd/3rd photo] ● Wat Mahathat This ruins temple has a sense of history even within Sukhothai Historical Park, and it goes great with the sunset. The historical park is open until 19:30 on weekdays, so I was able to take pictures of the starry sky. ● Admission fee: 100 baht (Historical Park) [4th photo] ● Wat Saphan Hin This ruins temple is located on a hill a little away from the historical park, and the Buddha statue that seems to watch over the city of Sukhothai is attractive. [5th photo] ● Kuay Tiao Sukhothai Kuay Tiao (Thai noodle dish) is a national dish that can be eaten throughout Thailand. Kuay Tiao Sukhothai has a sour taste with lime, so it is refreshing to eat even on hot days. Around Sukhothai Historical Park, food stalls began to appear in the evening, and tourists enjoyed eating and walking around.
