Sukhothai Mahathat Temple

Wat Mahathat is located in the center of Sukhothai city. It is the place where the Buddha's relics are enshrined. It is considered the most important temple in Sukhothai city. In the past, it was also used as a place for various royal ceremonies. It has been constantly renovated and added to, resulting in the temple being made up of buildings from various eras: the main pagoda, the royal chapel, the ordination hall, the pavilion, and over 200 minor pagodas.
