Nice, the pleasure of slow travel under the Mediterranean sun

#July Travel Support Fund Nice was the city that best showed the leisure and romance of southern France. As soon as I arrived, the scenery of the blue Mediterranean Sea and red-roofed buildings was peaceful and warm at first glance. The coastal promenade Promenade des Anglais was the beginning of my trip to Nice. As I walked along the sea and listened to the soft wind and the sound of the waves, all my complicated thoughts disappeared. Just sitting on a white beach chair and looking out at the cobalt blue sea was enough. The alleys of the Old Town (Vinice) were another charm of Nice. Small cafes and shops were lined up in the narrow alleys lined with yellow and orange buildings, and the scent of fresh fruits, flowers, and herbs filled the air at the Cours Saleya market, allowing me to vividly experience the local daily life. When I climbed up to the Colline du Château observation deck on the hill, I could see the Nice coast, the old town, and the endless Mediterranean Sea at a glance. The moment when the sunset dyed the sea and sky was truly an unforgettable scene. At the end, we finished the day with a seafood platter and rose wine at a seaside restaurant.
