"Amazing Glowing Lights...Visit Wat Phu Phrao, a Land of Nature and Faith" On this trip to Ubon Ratchathani, what excited me most was experiencing the atmosphere of Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Phrao, or Wat Phu Phrao as it's commonly known. This unique hilltop temple boasts not only its beautiful architecture, but also its dreamlike "Glowing Kalpapruek" tree. The journey to the temple is a short one from Sirindhorn District. Upon arriving, the first thing you'll notice is the tranquility and the expansive view down to the Sirindhorn Dam. The wide sky and cool breeze instantly refresh you. The ubosot (ordination hall) of Wat Phu Phrao is built in a blend of Thai and Lanna styles and sits on a high hill. Facing west, it offers a clear view of the sunset. Behind the ubosot is the highlight, the "Glowing Kalpapruek" tree, which glows emerald green at night as the neon lights from its fluorescent colors are charged by the daytime sunlight. 📸 Must-See Highlights • Watch the sunset from the ubosot courtyard, where the sky changes colors, creating a truly breathtaking sight. • Take photos of the glowing Kalpapruek tree behind the ubosot.
