Imported from China and Japan and planted by Fernando II in the 1840s, these camellias are a key component of Sintra's winter landscape. We were able to see some of the camellias already in bloom in October. The deep green leaves and red and white camellia flowers contrast with the splendid colors of the palace, adding to the park's colorful charm. The **'Camellia Garden'** is a prime spot to admire these rare flowers. Visiting after mid-October will reveal even more lush blooms. Thanks to the #OctoberTravelSupport, I had the unique experience of encountering Asian flowers in the Portuguese autumn.
