Chye Seng Huat Hardware, often abbreviated as CSHH, is a charming cafe that brings a unique industrial vibe to the coffee experience. Nestled within a refurbished hardware store, the cafe exudes an authentic old-school charm with its raw, rustic decor and warm lighting. The coffee here is undeniably the star. I had a cup of their hand-brewed pour-over, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The depth of flavors was beautifully balanced, with subtle notes of fruitiness and nuttiness depending on the bean selection. Their menu showcases an impressive variety of specialty beans, each thoughtfully sourced and roasted to perfection. The pastries were equally delightful, with a selection of buttery, flaky croissants and decadent kouign-amann. The kouign-amann stood out, offering a perfect combination of caramelized sweetness and crisp layers. The pain au chocolat was another highlight, with its rich, velvety chocolate filling contrasting beautifully with the light pastry.
