Day 4 Citywalk: Culinary Delights at Lau Pa Sat, Singapore’s Iconic Hawker Centre

#springitinerary On Day 4 of my city exploration, I visited Lau Pa Sat, a historic Victorian cast-iron market in Singapore’s city centre, renowned for its colonial architecture and vibrant food scene. This octagonal structure, designed by James MacRitchie and completed in 1894, features intricate cast-iron columns and a central clock tower, reflecting its rich heritage .  Inside, the market houses over 80 food stalls offering a diverse range of local and international cuisines. Notable stalls include Lao Fu Zi Char Kway Teow, known for its wok-hei-infused noodles, and Flint Grill, offering succulent grilled meats. The spacious seating and natural ventilation enhance the dining experience. In the evenings, Boon Tat Street transforms into Satay Street, where vendors serve skewered delights amidst a lively atmosphere .     Lau Pa Sat is not only a food haven but also an architectural gem, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts and those seeking an authentic Singaporean experience.
