Jurong Bird Park: A Legacy of Avian Wonders

#singaporetrip Opened on January 3, 1971, Jurong Bird Park was one of Singapore’s most beloved attractions for over five decades. Spanning 20 hectares, the park was home to around 3,500 birds across 400 species, making it one of the largest bird sanctuaries in Asia. After 52 wonderful years, the park closed its doors on January 3, 2023. This marked a new chapter, as the birds were carefully relocated to a brand-new home at Bird Paradise, part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The transition was thoughtfully planned to ensure the birds' well-being throughout the move. Bird Paradise officially opened on May 8, 2023, offering visitors an elevated experience. With eight massive walk-through aviaries, each mimicking different natural habitats, it continues the legacy of Jurong Bird Park with a fresh and immersive approach to avian conservation and education.
