Fluffy Rice, Crispy Chicken, and Fiery Sambal – 108 The Nasi Lemak Shop at Hong Lim

#favouriteitinerary 108 The Nasi Lemak Shop – A Taste of Malaysian-Style Nasi Lemak in Chinatown Located in Hong Lim Food Centre, 108 The Nasi Lemak Shop is a relatively new addition to Singapore’s hawker scene, serving up Malaysian-style nasi lemak. This Muslim-owned stall is run by two young owners who bring their passion for cooking into their craft, focusing on a simple yet flavorful menu. Their nasi lemak sets are centered around different chicken options, including ayam goreng berempah, boneless ayam goreng berempah, belachan double wing, and a belachan wing paired with begedil. For those who prefer a more customized meal, there are additional sides such as sambal quail eggs and kerabu salad. Each set comes with the classic nasi lemak components—fragrant coconut rice, a choice of fried or boiled egg, crispy anchovies and peanuts, and their house-made sambal. The boneless ayam goreng berempah is tender and well-seasoned, while the belachan wing has a crispy, light batter with a savory kick. The sambal is notably fiery with a subtle sweetness, complementing the other elements of the dish. The lemak rice is light and fluffy, serving as a good base for the various flavors. While the menu remains focused for now, the stall owners have hinted at future additions, which may introduce more variety. For those looking to try a new nasi lemak option in Chinatown, 108 The Nasi Lemak Shop is a spot to consider as it’s now on our list for next go-to food spot in the area. With its carefully prepared dishes and authentic flavors, it offers a glimpse into Malaysian-style nasi lemak within the vibrant hawker food culture of Singapore.

See this food restaurant at one of the social media, decide to visit for the delicious food Cantonese Delights is at Hong Lim food court, a four minutes walk from Chinatown station purple line. Hong lim complex got a numbers of marvelous food to visit. Cantonese Delights is at unit number #02-03, open from 1000-1430, Saturday and Sunday closed. I had order number of foods from this stall, curry chicken cullet noodle, laska yong tau foo, wanton soup, dumplings soup, cha siew and chicken feet. Chicken cullet taste good, yellow noodle is a better combination with curry, but i choose mee kia. Chicken feet cook well, soft and tender. Laska yong tau foo soup taste good, especially must order the pig skin roll.
