When visiting Singapore, you must not miss the National Gallery! 🏛 The National Gallery Singapore not only feasts your eyes and allows you to appreciate the classical Roman-style architectural art, but also allows you to get close to Southeast Asian art treasures. The entire museum consists of two national monuments built in the 1920s, namely the former Supreme Court and the original City Hall. After renovation and reconstruction in 2015, it was merged into an art museum, becoming the largest comprehensive visual arts institution in Southeast Asia. This place has extraordinary historical significance. It was once occupied by the Japanese army, and the Japanese army signed the surrender document here in 1945. In 1959, founding father Lee Kuan Yew swore again and announced the beginning of Singapore's self-government. 🏛 The main entrance of the art museum is magnificent, with imposing Roman columns, but you have to enter the exhibition hall from the side door. For example, there is a work that looks like a pile of wood blocks on the ground at first glance. However, under the guidance of the security guard, when you stand in the designated position and look at it from a specific angle, you will find a complete chair. It is really amazing! There are some special paintings, and there are videos explaining the design concept and the finished product process, which is super cool. However, please note that some copyrighted works are not allowed to be photographed. 👉 The corridor on the 3rd floor connects the High Court and the City Hall. It is very beautiful here and many people check in here. 👉 The dome design on the 4th floor is unique. Note the tree-like pillars, which are a very iconic artistic design. 👉 The 6th floor is a viewing terrace with nice views. When I went there, I spent all my time looking at the paintings and ended up not being able to visit the entire museum.
