Wat Sai

Wat Sai, Sing Buri Built in the Ayutthaya period, the church has only the wall with only the roots of the banyan tree holding it to the church wall to prevent it from collapsing. Inside, there is the principal Buddha image. The villagers used to call it Luang Pho Khao or Luang Pho Thayan, but now it is called Luang Pho Wat Sai, which is the name of the temple. In the past, there was a story that the principal Buddha image was originally plaster covered with gold. Later, the Burmese soldiers melted it down with fire, stripping away the gold, leaving only the plaster inside. Even the head of the Buddha image was cut off.
