Angkor Wat city of temple

Angkor Wat, a colossal religious monument in Cambodia, holds the title of the world's largest. Its name, "City Temple" in Khmer, is straightforward. However, the original name of this architectural marvel remains a mystery. Remarkably, despite its significance as Southeast Asia's greatest religious construction, no historical texts or inscriptions mention its name. Perhaps its fame was so widespread that a specific name was superfluous. Though King Suryavarman II and events at the temple are documented, the actual name of this monumental structure is lost to time.
