Angkor Wat

The Angkor ruins are a group of ruins from the Khmer Empire located in northwest Cambodia, north of Siem Reap on the north shore of Lake Tonle Sap. In 1992, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Danger. It is a heritage site worth seeing. The buildings of the Angkor ruins, including Angkor Wat, are built in the "Khmer architecture" unique to Hinduism, and the main feature is the use of different building materials, such as the palace of the gods being made of rocks and bricks, and the palace of the human king being made of wood. At Ta Prohm, a huge banyan tree has taken root, and the sight of the man-made structure that seems to be swallowed up by the tree makes a strong impact.
