Insect-Blocking Takaneyama Daisenji Temple

Daisen-ji Temple, widely revered as "Insect-Blocking Takaneyama," is said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi in 810, and its principal image is Dainichi Nyorai (Kongokai). In ancient times, it was called Fukizan Kongo-o-in Myohoji. In 1457, the monk Yua restored it as a place of prayer for the succession of the Oyama Castle doctrine, and renamed it Takaneyama Kanshin-in Daisen-ji Temple.
