Irori, a restaurant in the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village This restaurant is located just a few minutes' walk from the bus terminal. Serving local dishes made with Hida beef and miso, it offers seating by a hearth, allowing you to experience the interior of a Gassho-zukuri house while you dine. It's a popular restaurant, so if you don't have a reservation, you'll have to wait in line. Since diners are seated in order of their reception number, I browsed the souvenirs in the souvenir shop next door while waiting for my call. I found a wooden spoon and a magnet. I was called right after leaving the souvenir shop (lol). I'd already decided on my meal after looking at the menu in front of the restaurant, so I took a break and ordered right away! I ordered the "Hida Beef Hoba Miso Grilled Set Meal," which features Hida beef and miso placed on a hoba leaf and grilled while you eat. The Hida beef grilled with the fragrant miso was so delicious...😋 I finished it in no time.
