Takakura Shrine is a shrine located behind an old torii gate built along the street of Ouchi-juku. The wooden torii gate in the center of the Ouchi-juku settlement is the "Ichino Torii". If you walk along the farm road that stretches straight into the mountain beyond, you will see the "Nino Torii" gate that leads you into a quiet forest, and beyond that is a stone-paved approach lined with cedar trees, the "Sanno Torii" gate, and the worship hall. The worship hall has a heavy appearance and a sturdy roof, giving you a glimpse of the charm unique to a heavy snow area. From the Warring States period to the present day, this place has continued to be revered as the guardian deity of Ouchi-juku and is the spiritual home of the local people.
