A magnificient stone forest formation, Shi-Lin Stone Forest

#chinatrip The name Shi-Lin, as the name implies, means Stone Forest in Mandarin. Located some distance away from Kunming cit. The tall rocks were the remnants of underwater shallow sea stalagmites formed around 270 millions of years ago when this city was immersed underwater. This notable set of limestone formations spans around 500km2, and has been listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst under two parts of ots sites, Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village. This is a very magnificient area with many natural limestone resembling figures of deities, humans etc, and you really feel the power of nature.
