Pushing limits, a romantic sea of stars at the foot of Mount Everest

Though we left Everest, our souls remained there. If you've seen it with your own eyes, you'd never doubt the reality of this starry sky. That day, we crossed mountains and ridges, following the Himalayan border westward, witnessing countless sunrises and sunsets. At 1 a.m., we trekked over hills and rugged stone paths with our guide, reaching Everest Base Camp, where we captured the romantic Milky Way. Pushing open the car door, we were immersed in the serene, starry night. Gazing at the shimmering galaxy, even if none of it could be fully captured by camera, I was deeply moved in that moment. I stared at the distant hills, lost in thought for a long time. Even with the strong winds and late hour, even after losing and recovering my phone along the way, with Everest as our companion beneath the starry sky, I felt incredibly lucky that day. Maybe it was surviving the 108 bends, or witnessing the golden sunrise on the mountains, or savoring an authentic yak hotpot, or capturing the breathtaking Milky Way— I had no altitude sickness, no headaches, and at that moment, I truly felt so. damn. lucky! Oh, and key notes!!! We went in June—the weather wasn’t cold. A fleece-lined windbreaker was enough, with extra focus on head protection from the wind. We shot for two hours starting around midnight. The stars could be captured with a phone (later shots), while the Milky Way required a camera (earlier shots).
