Populary known as the "world`s oil painting factory", in its haydey Dafen produced 60 percent of all new oil paintings available worldwide. More than 20 years, Dafen Oil Painting village in Dafen, Longgang district, Shenzhen in the south of China has been the center of global trade in art reproductions. This little suburb of Shenzhen in Guangdong province, Dafen became.associated with oil painting in 1980`s when Huang Jiang, a painter and businessman from Hongkong took up.residency in the village. He brought other painters and students with him and started painting and selling their masterpieces.
