Shenzhen Marriott Hotel G, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is located at No. 8 Yanan Road, Longgang District. Although it's a bit far from the city center, the value for money is truly exceptional. The booking price with a CITIC card is about half that of several hotels in Futian District, and it's really convenient as most places are within a 30-minute taxi ride. 1. The hotel is adjacent to the owner's shopping mall, Galaxy World, and is just a 15-minute drive from Shenzhen North Station and Futian High-Speed Rail Station, and 30 minutes from Bao'an International Airport. It's a 10-minute walk to Yabao Metro Station, with the Galaxy shopping center right at the metro exit, making the location very convenient overall. 2. The hotel's overall positioning, facilities, and public area decor fall between budget and business luxury, better than Aloft and Fairfield, and basically on par with a standard Courtyard. Within walking distance is Coco Park, offering plenty of dining options. 3. The hotel's design was handled by HBA, featuring an eye-catching G-logo mirrored water feature at the entrance. The facade lighting has an intermittent line design, giving a strong tech vibe. The lobby space is compact but well-designed with high ceilings and lighting, creating a very refined atmosphere. The interior uses a mix of materials like wood, fabric, leather, and metal, with line and geometric designs that perfectly match the youthful, energetic personality of the city. 4. The standard room is 38 square meters, feeling slightly cramped. The lounge area has a set of tables, chairs, and storage cabinets, which are quite elegant. The mini-bar is simple and free, but at this price point, no complaints. The overall service is excellent—on a rainy day, the welcoming staff helped with umbrellas and luggage, and check-in was seated with smiling, soft-spoken front desk staff. 5. For public facilities, the gym is well-equipped, and the breakfast is plentiful and tasty, with no disappointments. The hotel doesn’t have a lounge, but there’s Happy Hour at the lobby bar, though I was out in the evenings and didn’t get to enjoy it. 6. The hotel has three restaurants: Ji Yan Chinese Restaurant, Duoyi All-Day Dining, and BOND Bar. I only tried BOND Bar, where the service was good—they proactively asked if I was a Marriott member for discounts. However, the cocktail quality was underwhelming, surprisingly bad. 7. In terms of service attitude, it’s 100 times better than JW Marriott Chegongmiao. Although the front desk only has two tables, it doesn’t feel cheap at all, and the staff are highly efficient. The housekeeping team’s response speed and service attitude are also outstanding.
