Stepping through the south gate, you’re greeted by an imposing gatehouse with upturned eaves and intricate brackets, standing like a silent historian witnessing the passage of time. The weathered white marble lions at the entrance, though marked by years of erosion, retain their majestic aura, each crack whispering tales of the past. Walking along the 1.3-kilometer Sacred Path, ancient pines over 300 years old tower into the sky. Sunlight filters through the branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground, creating a photogenic atmosphere perfect for stunning social media posts. At the Huangtaiji Square, the statue of Emperor Huangtaiji in full military regalia exudes heroism. Behind it, children fly kites and locals dance in the square, where the vibrancy of daily life harmoniously intertwines with the weight of history. The Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum is a breathtaking backdrop. The exquisitely carved bluestone archway in front of the Zheng Hong Gate showcases intricate patterns and timeless elegance. Passing through the gate, stone guardian beasts line the Sacred Path—majestic lions, righteous xiezhi, and auspicious qilin—silently watching over the land and its history. Inside the Fangcheng, the solemn Long’en Hall offers a vantage point to gaze into the past, as if history unfolds before your eyes. Beiling Park is picturesque in every season. In spring, magnolias and crabapples bloom, filling the park with vitality. Summer brings the intoxicating fragrance of lotus flowers in the ponds, with endless green leaves and vibrant pink blossoms stretching to the horizon. Autumn paints the park in golden ginkgo leaves and fiery maples, while winter covers everything in a serene blanket of snow, creating a romantic, tranquil wonderland. For the first night, I stayed at the Haoze Xiruidi Hotel. Its prime location—just steps from the subway and six stops from Beiling Park—made it incredibly convenient, eliminating any parking worries. The lobby was stunning, featuring a photogenic red peony installation perfect for Instagram snaps. Whether you’re exploring the historic Shenyang Palace Museum with its red walls and golden roofs or soaking up the trendy vibes of Xita Street, everything is easily accessible. After a day of adventures, returning to the hotel offers a haven of comfort and relaxation. The rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, starting at 40㎡, offering panoramic city views. By day, the Hunnan skyline makes a chic backdrop for photos; by night, the city’s neon lights create a cozy ambiance for relaxed snapshots by the window.
