The Last Pristine Land in Southern Anhui - Yangchan Tulou

Yangchan Tulou is an ancient village with a long history nestled in the mountains of southern Anhui. Due to its high elevation and inconvenient transportation, for hundreds of years, the mountain people have used local materials to build houses, creating a spectacular and rustic cluster of earthen buildings that are neatly arranged and harmoniously scattered. Unlike Hongcun and Xidi, there are no horse-head walls, no carved lattice windows, and no whitewashed walls with black tiles. Whether it's a single tulou or the entire village cluster, they are all made of earthen walls. As the outside world embraces nature and returns to simplicity, among the many Hui-style architectural villages, this place has become a unique landscape. Here, one can enjoy the most beautiful mountain sunsets, and with some luck in the morning, there may also be a sea of misty clouds, resembling a village above the clouds. In spring, there are rapeseed flowers; in autumn, there is the sun-drying of harvests; and in winter, when it's cold, there's also the snowscape.
