The entire scenic area is surrounded by the waters of Jianhu Lake, a grand hydraulic project built to solve flooding issues. The connection of 36 rivers also provided convenience for poets traveling the "Tang Poetry Trail." As the starting point of the "Zhedong Tang Poetry Trail," Jianhu Lake in Keqiao is a precious gem in the world of poetry. Historically, over 400 poets, including Meng Haoran, Wang Wei, Li Bai, Du Fu, and Liu Zongyuan, composed verses here, leaving behind masterpieces such as "The water of Mirror Lake is like the moon, the girls of Yexi are like snow," "Only the Mirror Lake before my gate remains unchanged by the spring breeze," and "The girls of Yue are the fairest under heaven, and Jianhu Lake is cool in May." Countless people have gazed upon this emerald lake, pondering the past and present while savoring life. Chanting poetry along the way and passing through the scenic area to reach Jianhuli, the view brightens once more. Originally just a typical residential area, it has become a pioneering and iconic project under Keqiao District's rural revitalization strategy.
