A three-day, two-night slow tour of the ancient city of Chaozhou in Shantou Day 1: Arrive in Shantou and set off leisurely After arriving in Shantou in the morning, stay at the Crest Homestay, located near the small park, quiet environment, walking distance from the small park, perfect for a slow trip with mother. In the afternoon, head to the Spring Merri Goose Meat Shop Forty-Seven Years Head Office for an authentic lunch, tasting the tender and juicy goose meat, goose intestines, but the other small dishes are just matching and can not be tried. After lunch, begin a relaxing tour of attractions. First, take a walk in the small park to feel the historical atmosphere of the old neighborhood; the classical buildings of Shantou Hotel, Shantou Post Office Building, Nansheng Trading Company and so on are the focus of taking pictures. In the evening, we have hot pot in Wanxiang City. The main focus is on stewed soup. Each person has one stove. Each person chooses his or her own taste. Beef and fish balls are highly recommended. Day 2: Cultural tour of Chaozhou ancient city Enjoy a cha-fan breakfast at the hotel in the morning to easily start your day. First, visit the Shantou Museum to learn about the local history and culture. The historical exhibition of early Chaoshan is rich in content, and it is not tiring to visit easily. Then call a car to the ancient city of Chaozhou, due to poor weather, Guangji Bridge is only half open, then visit Guangji Building and Kaiyuan Temple, beautiful architecture, and ancient city food street, taste the local snacks, slowly enjoy. Dinner is settled at Chao Guang Kee Casserole Porridge. Day 3: Adjust the itinerary for a perfect ending Due to bad weather, the planned trip to South Australia Island was cancelled. We took a slow trip in Shantou city instead. In the morning, head to Longan South Food Street to taste local specialty snacks, then revisit the small park and visit the century-old temple Guan Gong Temple; Enjoy seafood stir-fry at Heng On Fish Shop for lunch. Return to Hong Kong by high-speed rail at the right time in the afternoon, ending the three-day slow tour perfectly.

Just ended a relaxing trip to Shantou and stayed at the newly opened Yifei Hotel in 2025. The hotel service is good and the facilities are kept well, however personally I find it more suitable for business people as it has to be kept quiet and not very suitable for families. The location of the hotel is not in the city, the environment downstairs is quieter and not very lively. This trip was sudden. I bought a ticket the day before and found out that Shantou Station was newly opened this year. It was really convenient! The main purpose was to come and eat and relax, without expecting to walk to other attractions. The food in Chaoshan is really good, there are many styles and cheap, tea and coffee are very attractive. Think the three-day trip is considered relaxing, if just for food, two days is actually enough. However it’s best to bring a few more friends with you so you can eat more! #Shantou Trip #Yi Fei Hotel #Chaoshan Food
