Five-day Chaoshan trip! Eat and stroll… eat and stroll… eat and stroll!

Once a year, I come to this land of delicious food in Chaoshan to rest and recuperate. Eat for three days, gain three pounds; walk and pause, lose three pounds. First stop: Shantou Stroll through Xiaogongyuan, experiencing the modern arcade buildings across time. Walk along Zhujiang Road and Longyan South Road to experience Chaoshan's food culture— rice rolls, seafood porridge, fermented bean curd chicken wings, marinated goose, licorice fruits… Climb Jieshi Scenic Area to enjoy the coastal views on both sides of Shantou. Visit Shantou Museum to learn about its history and culture. Next, head to Nan'ao Island Feel the sea breeze and check in at the popular lighthouse. Listen to the waves and hike along Qing'ao Bay beach. Hold the giant "beef meatball" on the Tropic of Cancer. Finally, arrive in Chaozhou Walk through Longhu Ancient Village to see original ecological architecture and culture. Climb Han Wengong Ancestral Hall and hear stories about Han Yu, one of the Eight Great Prose Masters. Cross Guangji Bridge to experience what it’s like for thousands of troops to cross a single-plank bridge. Stroll through Chaozhou Ancient City, visit all the archways, eat and stroll, eat and stroll, eat and stroll. Be a stair-climbing enthusiast, climb high to enjoy the view, with Paifang Street fully in sight. That’s all. Just recording this.
