Shantou | Nan'ao Island

Nan'ao Island, once plagued by pirates, is the only island county in Guangdong Province and is often referred to as the 'Hawaii of Guangdong.' It is highly recommended to drive to Nan'ao Island. When driving on the Nan'ao Bridge, the scenery on both sides is very beautiful! (Pictures 6, 7) 1. The wind turbines on Nan'ao Island are located on high coastal areas, facing the blue ocean, with beautiful surroundings and pleasant scenery. These wind turbines are not only beautiful scenic spots but also symbols of local renewable energy. The area around the wind turbines is an ideal place to watch the sunrise and sunset. The Tropic of Cancer Plaza has a landmark tower called the 'Gate of Nature' standing on the horizon. Every year at noon on the summer solstice, when the sun shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer, the shadow will pass through the center of the sphere above the 'Gate of Nature' and project onto the center of the platform, creating a 'shadowless pole' phenomenon! (Pictures 14, 15) Shantou Xiaogongyuan is located in the old town of Shantou and preserves the original appearance of Shantou's streets from the 1930s. White European-style buildings can be seen everywhere, making it feel like walking into a European town. The red hexagonal pavilion adds a unique Chinese atmosphere to the retro Western-style open port area, and it is beautiful both day and night.
