Tongbo Mountain: Jiuxian Lake, Queqiao Valley

Tongbo Mountain, located at the junction of Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi provinces, is the starting point of the thousand-mile Wuyi Mountain range. Qing Dynasty poet Xu Zhaolun once wrote: "The proud first peak of the southeast, half-opened in the white clouds of the spiritual realm," thus it is also known as the "First Peak of the Southeast." We drove away from Wuyi Mountain towards Shangrao, using Gaode Map for navigation. Initially, we planned to take the highway, but the loudspeakers in the Jiuquxi community repeatedly broadcasted an emergency notice from the city government: all scenic spots would close at noon to prevent typhoon damage, and some roads were closed. After driving 10 kilometers, the road was closed, and the navigation system provided a new route, no longer using the highway but taking the provincial road from Wuyi Mountain to Shangrao. We drove nearly 200 kilometers through the Wuyi Mountain range to reach Tongbo Mountain (46 kilometers away from Shangrao City, where we had booked the Moer Hotel). Tongbo Mountain features overlapping green peaks, reflecting mountains and waters, with abrupt peaks and high peaks with flat lakes. Surrounded by green mountains, the lake surface is as smooth as a mirror, shimmering with waves. Due to the time spent on the road, we only visited Jiuxian Lake and Queqiao Valley in the scenic area. Jiuxian Lake harmonizes mountains and waters, with the distant Guishou Peak resembling a turtle drinking water. One side of the peak is as smooth as if cut by a knife, with a large "Shou" character hanging high, hence the name: Guishou Peak. The lakeside has a very wide and spacious platform, with few tourists but many staff members checking and testing sound equipment in preparation for the evening's cooling light and music show. Queqiao Valley is a newly developed attraction in recent years, a place for the matchmaking of Yue Lao, and can provide full wedding and banquet services for newlyweds. Such a large area and traditional facilities are rarely seen in other scenic spots. May the newlyweds rely on each other in wealth and poverty and walk hand in hand for a hundred years. Tongbo Mountain not only has rich forest resources but also unique Danxia, granite, volcanic tuff landforms, and high gorges with flat lakes. It is now a 4A-level scenic spot. It is also a national forest park, water conservancy scenic area, nature reserve, and ecological township.
