There are many green

There are many greenways covering every district of Shanghai. This one on the east side of Huangpu River (Pudong) is my favourite. Starting from the EXPO park heading south is a lovely set of connected parks with dedicated biking and running trails along the river, all nicely decorated with trees and all kinds of flowers. The view is even more stunning during sunset. There are plenty of resting facilities “望江驛 (Riverview stopover)” dotting along the trail with toilets, free wifi, free charging service and water dispenser, which helps to make the trip a hassle-free weekend city escape. The trail allows shared bikes, recommended for everyone. #shanghai #biking #greenway #lightthecity #urbanexplorer

Duolun Road Cultural Street

Duolun Road in Hongkou District, Shanghai, is a historical area known for its period architecture and the many writers who once lived here. The quiet streets are filled with cafés and antique shops, with plenty of places to stop and appreciate the atmosphere. The Fitch Memorial Church, at 59 Duolun Road, is the only Christian church in Shanghai built with design elements of a Chinese temple. Near the church there is an art gallery The Duolun Road historical area is a short walk from Dongbaoxing Road Station on line 3 (东宝兴路站). #urbanexplorer #qingmingtravel #lightthecity #shanghai #china #historicallandmark #culture #art #architecture #photography #history

Shanghai History Museum

The Shanghai History Museum gives a well curated survey of the region's human presence from Neolithic times up till now, with a focus on the 19th and 20th centuries, during which time Shanghai developed from a locally important port to a global financial centre and one of the most international cities in the world. Start at the ground floor and work your way up floor by floor to travel forwards in time. On the ground floor be sure to greet Stephen, one of the original bronze lions which once guarded the entrance to the HSBC headquarters on the Bund (the other is named Stitt, Stephen and Stitt having been the governors of the bank at that time.) Another iteration of Stephen and Stitt can be found outside the HSBC Building in Hong Kong and the newest ones outside the new HSBC headquarters in London. When you've finished with the exhibits, climb to the rooftop for a good view of the surroundings. The large clock on the front of the building chimes on the hour. The Shanghai History Museum is just outside People's Park (Renmin Gongyuan, 人民公园) and just a few steps from Renmin Guangchang metro station. The Shanghai Museum, which displays paintings, calligraphy, seals, coins and other art, is a short walk away. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #museum #history #historicallandmarks #shanghai #china #lion

Yu Garden

For a refuge from the hustle of Shanghai, visit the Yu Garden, 豫园, located a short distance from the Bund. Dating first to the Ming Dynasty, Yuyuan was an important part of Shanghai long before the foreign concessions began and Shanghai grew into a world metropolis. It remains an ideal spot to appreciate classical Chinese architecture and garden design. Though the general area is not extensive, the many winding pathways between hidden gardens allow you to spend a long time walking. Or choose a comfortable place to sit and take in the many views compactly arranged around you. Regular tickets are ¥40; show your ID when buying. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #shanghai #garden #springblossoms #weekendtrip

Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai

🍩 Where the donuts grow? * Shangri-la Pudong hotel's 怡咖啡海鲜自助餐厅 buffet is a good choice if you r travelling with a big company and all of u don't share same taste when talking about food. They have cuisine from all over the world, including Indiand, Turkush and Japanese food, a huge variety of seafood, which is quite fresh, and also a nice variety for those, who own sweet teeth only. * The section with deserts look so amazing, that it is hard the take ones eyes from it. 🍰❤️☕ * During big holidays the place also has DIY food just in the middle of the restaurant, so you can try to do your own Moon cakes during the Moon cake festival, or craft your own dumplings during Chinese New Year. 🍙🥮🥟🍡 . The restaurant is not big (according to Chinese standards), not quite cheap (around 350 per person), but always crowded cuz the food quality worth it. ALSO there is a huge kids room with slides, bubbles and all possible things for kids to play. The location is nice, it is two steps away from the North Bund and The Pearl tower. So after lunch/dinner you can enjoy a walk in a nice area. #shanghai #buffet #seafoodfeast #desert #deliciousfood #foodieheaven #hotelexperience #urbanexplorer#lightthecity#tripfoodie

☕ Drink it, eat it! Shanghai people are famous all around China for their love to coffee. In some small cities of China you can't find even one coffee shop, but in Shanghai there is a huge variety: coffee of all possible kinds from all over the world. M stand is not very different from any other coffee shop, BUT there are two things that really stand out. 1️⃣ Latte coffee in an eatable cup. The size of the cup is a bit smaller than the normal size latte paper cup, but it is made of a delicious cheesecake-crust-like oatmeal cookie (?). The cup inside has a chocolate coating layer, so it doesn't leak, don't worry about that. Just enjoy the drink and eat your cup after. Environment friendly + delicious! 😋 But... (yeah, there is always a "but") this is a real calories sugar bomb, so don't get too carried away 🙈😁 2️⃣ Concrete looking cheesecake 🍰 It looks like somebody just brought it from the construction area. It doesn't taste any different from any other cheesecake, but looks quite exciting💙🤍 This coffee shop has several brunches around Shanghai, my fav one so far is at 1126 Huashan Rd. The area is nice and clean, the view is good, and not too crowded 😁 Love coffee? You know what to do now ☺️☕ #coffeeshop #coffeelover #coffee #coffeetourism #deliciousfood #shanghai #urbanexplorer#lightthecity#tripfoodie

🐽 Overdose of cuteness guaranteed ❤️❤️❤️ 🐽 Pig Gallery (猪廊 in Chinese) is a cafe and a home for many cute pigs and piglets of all kinds and shapes🤩 At a price of around 100 RMB you can play with the pigs as much as you want + have a drink of choise. 🐽 Of course the melting point here are piggies, they are very cite and friendly. The place is clean, so can bring your kids worry-free. You can pet the pigs or give them a ride in a stroller, feed them or just watch them sleep, whatever they do, they are sooo adorable. 🐽 There are 2 floors in total, 🐖 live on the second floor and on the first floor is pork-free cafe, where you can have you meal or drinks afterwards.🥗☕🍰 🐽 All the area is nice and clean. The area with pigs is a bit shabby looking, cause pigs are curious and want to explore everything sometimes with their teeth as well, but who can blame them for this? 🐽 Location: 57 Wenchuan Rd., Wisdom Bay, Baoshan, Shanghai (蕰川路57号智慧湾科创园) #shanghai #animals #coffeeshop #goodtimes #stressscape #pig #familytime #awesomepic#café#lightthecity#urbanexplorer

A yummy bite of China 😋 🥢 The restaurant of Sheng Meng Hotel at #303 Jipu Rd. is well known among the locals for it is interior and delicious Zhejiang style food. The outside of the restaurant is quite average, but when you step inside, there is a whole new world, the door is like a portal to old Chinese street with tiled roofs, terraces, ancient bridges and boats, slowly floating in the ponds full of lotus leaves. 🥢 But it is worth coming not only for the interior, but for delicious Zhejiang province style food as well. But it might be a little challenging to order since there is no English on the menu. But there are pictures, so still not that hard. They also serve stinky fish. Thus I honestly won't recommend it to foreign fellas, but this dish is so hard to cook that it really shows the high class of the whole restaurant. ❤️ My personal top in this restaurant is: sweet taro, pig's feet, pastry cake with fruit, fried frog and tofu soup. It is fine to come with kids, cause you can relax and enjoy your food while they are bisy with exploring the reastaurant. The stuff is quite friendly and as it is common in Chinese culture, people love kids and nobody complains then running around or being a bit noisy. #shanghai #localfood #triplocal #foodieheaven #foodietrip #discoverchina #biteofchina #deliciousfood #zhejiang #zhejiangfood #chinesefood #tripfoodie#lightthecity#urbanexplorer
