Kyoto Aesthetics SOU·SOU Debuts in Shanghai for Its First China Exhibition

✨When I traveled in Kyoto before, I especially loved the unique aesthetics and designs in the local shopping streets and always wanted to visit again. Unexpectedly, SOU·SOU directly brought Kyoto’s lifestyle aesthetics to Shanghai, which was truly a delightful surprise! 🐈The third floor of the exhibition features shoes, clothing, and light and shadow displays. Walking inside, the textures of the fabrics and projections intertwine, creating a strong immersive experience. What caught my eye was the specially designed depo cat projection—little cats hopping around the venue, lively and vivid. Here, Japanese aesthetic textures, SOU·SOU’s signature numbers, and depo cat elements are cleverly integrated into suitcases, clothing, and displays, making everyday items full of design fun, both cute and ingenious. 🍡The exhibition on the fourth-floor terrace is equally wonderful, with white magnolia patterns complementing the view of Shanghai’s Bund. Indoors, it transforms into an art lifestyle market focused on “art dining + pop-up retail,” creating a space that delights both visually and gastronomically. Sake and wagashi seem to add a unique Kyoto-like tranquility and delicacy to the entire space. 💖What moved me most about the entire exhibition is how it brings design back to the tangible everyday. Here, light and shadow replace language, and patterns become symbols.
