Lesser-known temples in Shanghai｜A quiet and healing corner away from the crowds!

🏮On the day everyone went back to work, I drove 50 km across Shanghai to Baoshan Temple, which I had wanted to visit for a long time, to mark the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year, wishing for a smooth and safe year. ✷ 🏯Baoshan Temple is indeed a bit far away, and it is a relatively lesser-known temple in Shanghai, but it is still worth a visit. The temple has a long history and a quiet environment, dating back to the Tang Dynasty. I have seen many people say it looks like a small Kyoto, but in fact, many ancient Japanese temples, especially those in Nara and Kyoto, were heavily influenced by the architectural style of the late Tang Dynasty in China. ✷ After reconstruction and renovation, the temple now combines the traditional Jiangnan Buddhist architectural style with modern Zen design. My friends who came with me were amazed at how beautiful it was. 🚪If you are interested in architecture, you can also go and take a closer look at the details, which are intriguing. ✷ 🪔We went there in the evening, for less than an hour. But it was also the most beautiful time, with golden mottled light and shadow shining through the corridor, so beautiful. There were not many people, and the whole temple was quiet, with only the 🎐metal wind chimes hanging on Baoshan Temple swaying in the wind and ringing. ✷ 🐈There are also cats strolling leisurely in the temple, which makes it more lively. There is also a vegetarian hall and a 🍵tea room, but we didn't make it this time, so we will go again next time. 📿There is a place near the entrance where you can buy Buddhist items and incense, and you can pray for yourself and your family and friends. ➘
