Shanghai Luxun Park, a historical and cultural monument in Shanghai

Shanghai Luxun Park, formerly known as Hongkou Park, is located at the junction of Sichuan North Road and Tianai Branch Road in Hongkou District, Shanghai. Luxun Park is named after Mr. Lu Xun who is buried here, but people living here still habitually call it Hongkou Park. Hongkou Park, which started as a shooting range for foreigners, has now become the Luxun Park in Shanghai. The Luxun Memorial Hall in the park is the first memorial hall for a figure in China. In front of the Luxun Memorial Hall is the World Literary Masters Square, with bronze statues of ten world-renowned writers, namely: Dante, Pushkin, Hugo, Gorky, Balzac, Goethe, Shakespeare, Dickens, Tolstoy and Tagore. There is also a China-Japan Youth Friendship Bell in the park, which was built in 1984 and has an inscription by Wang Zhen. Like many old parks, Luxun Park has rockery, waterfalls, green lawns, and a long and narrow artificial lake running through the north and south of the park. The mountains and rivers are connected by embankments and bridges, forming a series of pleasant and beautiful scenery. Luxun Park is also the park with the strongest atmosphere of life in Shanghai. Many elderly people gather in the park every day. Calligraphy teams, choirs, drama clubs, and dance teams have various activities in their spare time. The lakeside is a great place for people to take a leisurely walk.
