Clouds in Pants: Today's Painting

Clouds in Pants: Paintings of Today October 26, 2024 - January 5, 2025 West Bund Art Museum The exhibition title is taken from a poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky: "If you want, I will bite raw meat like a barbarian, or become the color awakened by the sunrise. If you want, I can be gentle and blameless, not a human, but a cloud in pants." The exhibition brings together 23 artists from different generations and backgrounds. They wander between figuration and abstraction, tradition and contemporary, and use their distinctive personal brushstrokes to explain their thoughts on "today" on different time coordinates.
