I have finally arrived at the other side of the 'Anywhere Door' - Shanghai Xintiandi. With the high-rise buildings clustered in today's Shanghai, what did the earliest Shanghai look like? You must go to Xintiandi to see it. I also enjoy strolling around Xintiandi now, weaving through the alleyways, as if I have returned to my childhood. The uneven stone roads here carry memories, carry sentimentality, and in this not-so-large space, there is even more a sense of human warmth. Shikumen architecture in Shanghai is probably also the most representative of Chinese-style buildings and embodies the rich culture of Shanghai. Shikumen buildings feature stone door frames with iron gates, and the frames are beautifully carved with exquisite patterns, which are very pretty. Upon entering, there is a large courtyard, where residents living on the ground floor can grow flowers, and it is also the most envied room by all the residents in the building. Today, Shikumen has been listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list. The renovated Shikumen has displayed its original splendor in a modern way.
